Friends of the Desert Mountains protects the beautiful open spaces and critical habitat of the Coachella Valley and surrounding mountains. We support conservation and education projects in the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument. Our quality of life in the Valley depends on these open spaces, as does the survival of many threatened and endangered species that live in this wonderful area. If we don’t act now to preserve these lands, rapid development will obstruct our scenic vistas, threaten our wildlife populations and overrun our recreation areas. We must act now.
