PALM DESERT, CA September 27, 2007 Friends of the Desert Mountains, the non-profit partner organization for the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument, is currently recruiting volunteers to serve in a number of very important capacities.
Selected volunteers will receive training and materials to successfully assist in the program. Special enrichment opportunities are provided for active volunteers, including naturalist training, field trips to natural and cultural history sites of interest, workshops and lectures in Mt San Jacinto State Park, and/or free admission on National Monument natural history bus tours. Best of all, volunteers are rewarded with personal satisfaction of being important, contributing members of our community.
Special Requirements: Involvement levels and time commitments vary by volunteer capacity and schedule availability. All interested parties are encouraged to apply. Because several volunteer job descriptions entail working with children or money, candidates for some positions may be asked to consent to fingerprinting and/or other forms of background investigation.
