The Astronomical Society of the Desert will conduct “sky tours,” observing stars, planets, galaxies and other features of the night sky through telescopes and binoculars. For more details or information visit their website at www.astrorx.org
When it becomes fully dark, we will use black lights to seek out the various night creatures inhabiting our desert. Some creatures we might find are: scorpions, tarantulas, geckos, spiders, owls, snakes and coyotes. This is a family event! Minors must be accompanied by parent or guardian. Bring water and wear closed-toed shoes. If you have a black light bring it along. If not, we have a few to share.
Location: Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains National Monument Visitor Center, 51500 Highway 74, Palm Desert, CA.
RSVP Required: call 760-862-9984
