Dead Indian and Carrizo canyons are only open from October-December and provide wonderful opportunties to see Bighorn Sheep and many other desert critters. 

Location:  Hike starts from the Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains Visitor Center on Highway 74.  Hike rating is easy to moderate, approximately 2-3 miles round trip.  Elevation gain approximately 100-500 ft.  Bring snacks and 2 liters of water per person.  Wear close-toed shoes, hat and sunscreen.  Minors must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
