National Trails Day Event/Upper Sawmill Trail Cleaning

June 6th is National Trails Day with the U.S. Forest Service! Participate in the nationwide movement of trail stewardship projects and give back to trails!
Help clear pine needles and leaf buildup from the trail, restore drainage features, remove fallen trees, and improve directional signage near the charcoal kiln transition area.
PHYSICAL RATING: Moderate to difficult. Participants will hike about 5 round-trip miles on uneven terrain at elevations between 6,000–7,500 feet. Activities may include bending, shoveling, and moving soil, branches, trees, and other debris.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ ABOUT THE LOCATION: Meet at the top end of the Sawmill Trail, which is located about .25 miles past Santa Rosa Spring on Santa Rosa Road (7S02). This is approximately 8 miles above Highway 74. You need an AWD, high-clearance vehicle to reach the location.
