Rancho Mirage-Chuckwalla Trail Full Moon Hike

Description: Grab your hiking boots and join Friends of the Desert Mountains volunteer docents on a full moon hike on the lower portion of the Chuckwalla Trail. You will experience the views of our desert mountains in the amazing wash of moonlight and shadows, as well as the urban night lights of the Coachella Valley.
Overview: This easy hike (Rating below 50) is generally suitable for anyone who enjoys walking. Mostly level or with a slight incline.
Time: 7:00PM – 9:00PM

Distance: 2 miles
Elevation Gain: 350 feet (equals 40 flights of stairs)
Terrain & Obstacles: The trail is narrow, 2 feet wide and has 1-steep incline with cobbled desert terrain.
Requirements: Bring 1-2 liter of water per person, headlamp or flashlight and wear close-toed shoes.
Recommended: Hiking poles.
