SUMMARY:McManus Trail Hike
DESCRIPTION:A 3 mile out-and-back trail near Cathedral City. This is a popular trail to the Goat Trails area\, but you can still enjoy some solitude during a quieter time of the day. Trail is moderately difficult. Sorry\, no dogs allowed. Bring 2 liters of water\, snacks\, wear closed-toed shoes\, a sun hat and sunscreen. Hiking poles are suggested as trail can be uneven. \nRSVP is required. DESCRIPTION:This upcoming volunteer lecture will highlight the Bureau of Land Management’s vital role in conservation and land stewardship\, with a special focus on the establishment of the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument. Our guest speaker\, Jim Foote\, former Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument Manager\, will share his firsthand experience and insights into the monument’s creation\, along with other conservation-based designations. The presentation will also explore how these efforts fit into the broader landscape of public land protection\, illustrating BLM’s involvement in a wider\, collaborative management approach. \nThe lecture will be held in the FODM Conference Room. \nYou must be a current volunteer to attend. \nQuestions?
