SUMMARY:Montane Botanic Garden Trail Adaptive Sports Hike
DESCRIPTION:Montane Botanic Garden Trail Adaptive Sports Hike\nJoin SoCal Adaptive Sports and Friends of the Desert Mountains volunteer docents on a hike for persons with disabilities\, their family\, and friends on the Montane Botanic Garden Trail. \nNestled in a glen\, situated at 5\,024 feet\, in the shadow of 8\,700-foot Wilshire Peak\, lies The Wildlands Conservancy’s 909-acre Oak Glen Preserve. The Preserve is the home of a Botanic Garden and Children’s Outdoor Discovery Center and includes the entire 114-year-old Los Rios Rancho Apple Farm. \nThe Botanic Garden includes a variety of habitats – ponds\, streams\, wetlands\, oak and pine forests\, chaparral and willow woodland – while Los Rios Ranch is center of operations for 10\,000 apple trees. This will be a day of fun! \nWe will be hiking about 2 miles. Bring snacks\, 2 liters of water per person and your hiking poles. Wear close-toed shoes\, a sun hat and sunscreen. \nREGISTER HERE \nFor more information\, contact Michael at mike@socaladaptivesports.org or 760-469-9207.
