26th Anniversary Hike – SRSJM National Monument
Description: Come out to celebrate the Monument’s 26th anniversary with a special hike lead by the Monument Manager for the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument. Join her on a hike on the spectacular Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail and learn about some of the epic resources unique to the Monument!
Overview: This moderate hike (Rating of 55) is generally suitable for novice hikers who want a bit of a challenge. The terrain will involve a moderate incline and may have some steeper sections.
Time: 8:30AM – 1:00 PM

Distance: 5 miles
Elevation Gain: 300 feet
Terrain & Obstacles: This trail goes through a desert wash, uneven terrain.
Requirements: Minimum 2 liters of water and a snack, Closed-toe shoes, No dogs allowed
Recommended: Sunscreen and hat, Hiking poles, Long sleeve shirt
Meeting Location: Meet at Pacific Crest Trail, about a mile south on Snow Creek Road off Highway 111. West of Windy Point, near the Interstate 10 and Highway 111 intersection. Do not enter private residential area. Coordinates: 33.89374, -116.68297
